Fragment 15-wiecznego, makaronicznego wiersza, w oryginalnej pisowni:
Thre kinges come on goid twelfth day,
stella mycante previa;
To seche that childe they tok the way,
portantes sibi munera.
A sterne forth ladde theis kinges all,
inquirentes Dominum;
Lying in an asse stall
invenerunt puerum.
For he was King of kinges heghe,
rex primus aurum optulit;
And also Lorde and King full right,
secundus rex thus protulit.
For he was God, Mon and King,
myrra mortem retulit:
He us all to Heven bring,
qui mortem Cruce voluit.
